Since the year 2000, the Brzica family has farmed 6 hectares at Busija, a site perched directly above the Danube at the 1,378th kilometer of its course — with sweeping views across the river to Baranja and Bačka.
The soil is loess — a wind-blown mix of clay and sand exceptionally suited to the vine. Across 28,000 vines, one-third is planted to white varieties (Graševina and Chardonnay) and two-thirds to red (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Vranac). A steady northern wind protects the vines from winter frost and dries the canopy after summer rain, in a region enjoying more than 250 sunny days a year.
What sets Brzica apart: 65% of production is red wine, all barrel-aged and released only after at least four years in the cellar, including 12 months of bottle maturation. And uniquely for continental Croatia, the estate grows Vranac — the backbone of its Cuvée Rendezvous.
Production is limited to 25,000 bottles a year — true boutique scale, made in a modern cellar with controlled fermentation and oak aging.

Cabernet Sauvignon and Cuvée Rendezvous are available now to Ohio trade accounts — exclusively through VS Croatian Imports.
