Croatia is a country with a rich and diverse wine culture, dating back to the ancient Greeks and Romans. The country has over 130 indigenous grape varieties, many of which are not found anywhere else in the world.
Croatia is home to four major wine regions and produces hundreds of grape varietals. These geographical regions are defined by diversity, climate, geological and cultural differences. Each region produces a mix of white, red, rose’ and sparkling wines and as a whole Croatia produces more than 170 million liters of wine per year. The diverse climate provides a wide range of wine styles and different varietals, most common is Croatia’s Grasevina. This grape varies in style and can be produced dry and fresh, sparkling, Light and aromatic to aged and complex or even sweet.
